'playn acre apud Lynley grene iii acres’
This is a quote from a 1575 manuscript enchantingly describing the land adjacent to a cottage and blacksmith shop in Linley Green, Worcestershire in the heart of lush English countryside. This land is where the Playn Acre Farm young stock run and the inspiration for our name.
Lorna has over 18 years’ experience riding and producing talented young horses and ponies, having worked on professional yards in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and the USA.
Lorna started riding aged 3 aboard a Shetland pony named Flute. At 16 she embarked on a professional career in the equine industry and a skill with young horses and a love of show jumping has led to great achievements in the years that followed.
Past experience includes riding for Clarissa Crotta, Swiss International Show Jumper and Winner of European Team Gold in Windsor. Young horse rider for Guido Klatte's family stable and horse transport company in NW Germany. Travelling with horses all over the world, flying with horses and experiencing care in professional environments has given us a very high standard of stable management and turnout. Young horses produced for show jumping, dressage and showing by Lorna have gone on to compete at World Cup Finals, Grand Prixs and of course HOY's and the Royal International.
The Playn Acre Farm has now had several UK 'big show' winners and champions and 5 ponies qualify for their finals at the Royal International. Several graduates of our yard have gone on to great success and qualify for HOY's with their new owners. We remain committed to the best possible care and the best education for all the equines on our yard.
